Are you looking for music and performance classes in Paris taught in English? Whether you're a total beginner, returning to creative practice after a break, or looking to focus on specific areas of your artistic education, you're in the right place.
I'm a professional classical singer and educator, and I offer singing lessons, stagecraft coaching, and classical music education in English (French also available!) for both children and adults. My sessions are adaptable and tailored to your goals, with a focus on confidence, self-expression, and strong technical foundations. Lessons are available in Paris or online worldwide.
🎶 English-Language Music Lessons in Paris & Online

I work with students of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels – from complete beginners to trained musicians, from young children to retirees.
Many of my students are:
Native English speakers living in Paris who want music lessons in their first language
Multilingual individuals looking to express themselves confidently in English
Adults rekindling creativity or starting fresh
Children and teens building foundational skills in a supportive setting
Performers preparing for auditions, concerts, or recordings
Or just curious souls who’ve always wanted to explore singing or music more deeply
What I Offer

✨ Singing Lessons (Ages 5–Adult)
Build healthy vocal technique with classical foundations, while exploring your unique voice. We work with repertoire that suits your goals – classical, musical theatre, pop, rock, jazz, and more.
Ideal for:
Building confidence and vocal technique
Exploring vocal style and repertoire
Preparing for performances and auditions
Singing for fun or personal growth
🎭 Voice & Stagecraft for Wellbeing (Ages 13–Adult)
Practical voice and performance skills to build stage presence, self-expression, and communication – whether you’re on stage, at work, or just want to feel more confident in your body and voice.
🎼 Classical Music Immersion (Ages 5–Adult)
Discover classical music through listening, discussion, and creative activities – no instrument needed. We explore selected works in an accessible, engaging way to develop musical understanding, deepen listening skills, and spark curiosity about composers, styles, and storytelling in music.
👶 Éveil Musical / Early Years Music (Ages 6 months–4 years)
Musical discovery for little ones, using movement, live instruments, and songs from many styles. Sessions support early listening and coordination in a fun, sensory-rich environment. I offer 1:1 and small group options.
📚 Musicianship & Music Theory (All Ages)
Practical and relevant training in theory, ear training, and musical understanding. Can be integrated into other lesson types or offered as stand-alone support.
Why Take Music Lessons in English?
Many of my students navigate daily life in French (work meetings, admin calls, school communication, trips to the supermarket...) and value having a space where they can focus on music without the mental load of translation.
For non-native speakers, learning music in English offers a chance to:
Practice spoken English regularly
Learn music-specific English vocabulary
Prepare for English-speaking auditions or training programmes
Gain confidence communicating across languages
As a native English speaker who also teaches in French, I understand the nuances of both languages and can adapt my approach to your needs.
A little about me...

Hi! I'm Kayla - a classical singer, educator, and creator from New Zealand, now based in Paris, France. I hold a Master of Music in Classical Singing and a Postgraduate Certificate in Theatre Studies, and have over a decade of experience as a performer and teacher.
My own musical journey began with everything from traditional Māori waiata to barbershop harmonies, pop, R&B, and rock classics. That eclectic background gave me a love of many styles and a flexible, open-minded approach to the voice and to performance.
As both an educator and an artist, I've always been passionate about creating experiences that meet people where they are. I created my lesson and workshop offerings to reflect that: combining my training and performance experience with a broad mix of methods and insights from across the arts. Whether you're looking to build your vocal technique, discover classical music and deepen your musicianship, explore theatre and stagecraft, or simply reconnect with who you are as a creative, amazing human being, my approach adapts to suit your learning style and goals.
Special Areas I Love Working With

Building Confidence & Overcoming Performance Anxiety
If nerves, self-doubt, or past experiences have made you hesitant about singing or performing, I completely understand. As a trauma-informed teacher, I work gently with students to identify what might be holding them back and develop practical tools for moving forward with confidence.
Developing Your Ear & Singing in Tune
If you've ever been told you're "tone deaf" or worry your music knowledge is lacking – there's hope! I love helping people build trust in their inner ear, develop accurate pitch, and feel more connected to what they hear. I also really enjoy teaching students how to listen more deeply to classical music and the arts – not just as background sound, but as something you can engage with, feel, and respond to. It’s all part of the same process.
Preparing for Auditions & Performances
With extensive stage experience and my theatre background, I enjoy helping singers prepare for auditions, concerts, recordings, and other performance opportunities - offering practical guidance on everything from song choice to stage presence.
